OPEN & AFFIRMING (ONA)
PRIDEFEST Sunday, July 18, 2010
The festivities will take place in Acacia Park from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 19. The parade began at noon, and the ONA Committee will organize a group from FCUCC who will march in the parade.
TRANSGENDER REMEMBRANCE
Guest preacher, Rev. Malcolm Himschoot, offered a Reign of Christ sermon on the occasion of TransgenderRemembrance Day, November 20. The scripture text is Mark 4:35-41.Malcolm's sermon was titled "To Risk Life and Limb." At 12:30 p.m., the film "Call Me Malcolm," a documentary of Rev. Malcolm's life was shown in the Dwelling Place, followed by a discussion. Also - as far as transgender education there are some great handouts from: Trans Equality.org Understanding Transgender and Transgender Terminology.
