Frank Shelton Organist/Director of Music
Frank Shelton Organist/Director of Music, also serves as College Organist and a member of the music faculty at The Colorado College. Shelton's musical activities are varied and far-reaching. He has performed throughout the United States, Europe and the British Isles. In 2006 he performed recitals at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris (his second recital at the Cathedral) and the Michelstadter Orgelzyklus in Michelstadt, Germany to highly critical acclaim. In addition, he has presented recitals in such prestigious venues as London's St. Paul's Cathedral, the historic St. Asaph Cathedral in Wales, St. Mark’s Cathedral in Venice, Washington’s National Cathedral, and the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles. He has been a featured recitalist for the National Convention of the Organ Historical Society, performed on the Distinguished Organist Series at The Colorado College and has been guest artist with the Colorado Springs Symphony Orchestra Shelton holds advanced degrees in both organ performance and historical musicology from UCLA where he was a Regent’s Fellow and Assistant Conductor of the University Chorus. The recipient of the prestigious Thomas J. Watson Fellowship, he spent a year in Europe studying the relationship of organ building to organ performance. As a choral conductor he has worked extensively with adult and children’s choirs and has arranged classical choral works for children’s choir.
Mandy Todd Moore, Choir Director
In addition to directing the chancel choir, Mandy also is the vocal music/drama instructor at Carson Middle School on Ft. Carson Military base. She received a B. A. Degree in Music Education from Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas in 2005. While at Bethany, Mandy was a member of many music ensembles, including the Bethany College Choir and the Symphonic band. She also directed the youth choir at Elim Lutheran Church in Markette, Kansas. Mandy was born in Junction City, Kansas. She came to Colorado after her marriage to Mark Moore, a Colorado Springs native, in July 2005. Mandy and Mark recently bought a house in the downtown area, which they share with their cat, Penelope, and dog, Delilah.
