CHILDREN'S CHOIR "Joyful Noise"
All children in second through fifth grade who are interested in singing are invited to participate in First Congregational Church’s Children's Choir. Earlier this year, volunteers have offered music sections during Sunday School. Thank you to Susie Marten who helped the Sunday school children learn “What does the Lord Require” during January. Building on the success of this program, we offered a week-long music experience "The Children's Choir Extravaganza" during Spring Vacation to create the foundation for a permanent children’s choir here at FCC. From 9 a.m. until noon Monday through Friday (March 26-March 30), we explored many of the facets involved in singing in a children’s choir. Not only did the children learn about the techniques of singing, they experienced music in many different ways. In addition to learning how to read music and rehearsing special anthems, the children had a special musical event each day. From hand chime ringing to an encounter with the “King of Instruments” the week was filled with surprises. A special performance was on Palm Sunday, April 1 the children of this event sang the anthem " Now Jesus went into the Garden", Taize Chants, Hymn, "All Glory, Laud and Honor." All Children 2nd through 5th grades are invited to participate in the "Joyful Noise". The permanent time for the Fall Rehearsals is Tuesday's from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the church.
For now here are some calendar Highlights: Sing at the 9 a.m. service the first Sunday of the Month

GENESIS YOUTH CHOIR PERFORMED JUNE 1 at FCC On Friday, June 1 at 11 a.m. the Genesis Youth Choir presented a special concert with our Children's Choir in the Sanctuary here at First Congregational Church. All were invited to come support our children and the youth from Greeley in this free concert. Genesis is the youth choir of First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, of Greeley, Colorado. The group is comprised of thirty-five youth grades six through twelve, twenty-nine of whom will be participating in their Mile-High Mini-Mission Tour May 30-June 1, swinging through Denver, Buena Vista and Colorado Springs. Genesis is a dedicated and enthusiastic group of Christian youth who take seriously their role in leading worship twice monthly and being role models for the children’s choirs of the church. They have raised $1,000 to distribute to the mission venues served on tour. With this 2007 tour, mission begins and ends at home - their first and last venues are in Greeley. This is Genesis’ second mission tour, last year going on a week-long multi-state trip. In 2004, they traveled to Washington, DC, to sing in concert with 500 youth at the Youth Cue Nation’s Capitol Festival in the Washington National Cathedral. Prior to that, they regularly participated in Choristers Guild Summer Seminars at William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri.
